Section 03
Google Sign-In & Firebase
On The Table uses Google Sign-In for authentication and Google Firebase (Firestore) to store your data securely in the cloud.
When you sign in with Google:
- We receive your Google account name, email address, and profile photo
- Your app data is stored in Firebase Firestore under your unique Google user ID
- Only you — and family members you share your Google account with — can access your data
- We do not receive your Google password
Google's use of your information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can revoke On The Table's access to your Google account at any time via your Google account settings.
Section 04
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which is hosted on Google's secure cloud infrastructure in the United States.
We implement the following security measures:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
- Firebase security rules restrict access so only authenticated users can read or write their own data
- Sensitive tasks can be additionally protected with a user-set PIN code within the app
- File attachments are stored as encrypted Base64 data within your account
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords for your Google account and to use the PIN protection feature for sensitive task data.
Section 05
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — Google (Firebase, Analytics, AdSense, Sign-In) who process data on our behalf under strict data protection agreements
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- Protection of rights — to protect the rights, property, or safety of On The Table, our users, or the public
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you
Section 06
Advertising
On The Table uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to show you ads based on your interests and prior visits to websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
We do not have direct access to the data Google uses for advertising targeting. Google's advertising practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Section 07
Children's Privacy
On The Table is designed as a family household tool intended to be set up and managed by adults (18+). The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Children may appear as assigned members of tasks (e.g., "Emma's soccer signup") but this does not constitute collecting personal data from the child. The app is operated by the adult account holder.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete such information.
Section 08

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — you can view all your data directly within the app at any time
- Correction — you can edit or update your data at any time within the app
- Deletion — you can delete individual tasks, or contact us to request deletion of your entire account and associated data
